As I walk the streets and explore communities, photography is my passion, my poetry allowing me see the beauty in the everyday, for telling visual stories and for engaging with people on the streets. . I have been photographing for many years, using the camera as a tool to document people on the streets, at home, in the back of restaurants, in laundromats, and wherever I find myself on a particular day. I strive to capture the moments and emotions of peopole in their daily lives and to show the diversity of lives and communities. Every person has a story, a history, a life past and present. Making pictures allows for deeper interaction and collaboration with people and communities.

I also enjoy capturing the beauty in industrial environments, environmental patterns and urban areas in decling or dis-use. It provides a glimpse into the past and our rapidly changing world. My photos include images from international and local travels.

I am essentially a self-taught photographer. Over the years I have taken workshops with several renowned photographers including Mary Ellen Mark, Magdalena Sole, Maggie Steeber and Peter Turnley. I incorporate what I’ve learned from them and my fellow workshop participants to expand my way of looking at and documenting the world around me.
